This Aultmore, distilled in 2009, was aged for 15 years in first-fill bourbon casks before being bottled at its natural strength of 57.3%. This Speyside single malt, with its fruity and full-bodied profile, opens with aromas of lemon, apricot, and melon.
Founded in 1968 by the great whisky visionary, "Mr. George" Urquhart, the "Connoisseurs Choice" range now includes over 2,000 bottlings from around 100 Scottish distilleries. The story of each "Connoisseurs Choice" whisky is told on its label: cask type, bottling date, strength, vintage, and tasting notes. Always non-chill-filtered, these rare single casks and small batch expressions were created thanks to Gordon & MacPhail's unique expertise in blending distillate and oak barrels, passed down through four generations of the same family.
Located in Keith, Banffshire, the Aultmore Distillery was founded in 1896. Renovated between 1970 and 1971, it expanded from two to four stills. The single malt it produces is primarily used in Dewar's blended Scotch.
