Benromach generally use first-fill sherry and bourbon casks to age their whiskies. However, the Contrasts range aims to add an extra touch, they have decided to age their subtly smoky spirit in virgin American oak casks. These casks are handcrafted by expert coopers in Scotland and have never contained any other spirits. The result is tropical fruit flavours not usually found in the main Benromach range.
