In 1987, Tom Bulleit was inspired by the past and his great-grandfather, Augustus Bulleit, to create a unique bourbon from a family recipe dating back to 1830. The proportions of the recipe are 1/3 rye and 2/3 corn. The result is an atypical bourbon with a drier, less sweet character than usual.
