Located in Rothes, the Glenrothes distillery was founded in 1878. Between 1963 and 1989, the number of stills increased from four to ten, and in 1993 the first vintage, 1979, was released. Its single malt is used in the famous blended scotches Cutty Sark and The Famous Grouse. With its remarkable balance and smoothness, the aromatic palette and taste of this version are also of rare fullness. A subtle blend of accomplished maturity and youthful spirit, note after note reveals a hilly landscape whose colourful hues evoke the Speyside region with great realism.
