After The Arrival in 2023, the very first single malt from the Holyrood distillery, Embra is the second single malt to follow in its footsteps. Inspired by the rich brewing and distilling heritage of Scotland's capital, the successive editions in this series embody the original approach the distillery strives for in all its ranges, whose watchwords are simplicity, complexity and nuance. This second edition uses two barley varieties, Cloudy and Vienna, to bring out notes of honey, vanilla and toasted nuts. Aging is triple maturation in ex-fut de bourbons, Islay quarter casks and American virgin oak.
