Imperial was a Speyside distillery founded in 1897 in Carron. Relatively discreet and primarily used for blends, it produced a fine, soft, slightly fruity malt that could age gracefully in both sherry and bourbon casks. Closed in 1998, Imperial is now lost, but its rare single malts, often bottled by independents, reveal the full aromatic potential and subtlety of classic Speyside: malty sweetness, ripe fruits, and harmonious complexity.
This 30-year-old single malt delivers a perfect balance of maturity, richness and finesse. Aged in a hogshead, it showcases honeyed and fruity aromas, supported by noble oak, resulting in an elegant, deep, and refined whisky with remarkable complexity.
