Sailing towards Port Ellen, the 15th edition of the Artist range, dedicated to Islay single malts, makes a stop at Laphroaig, whose Gaelic name means “the hollow of the bay.” Founded in 1815 by brothers Alexander and Donald Johnston, this distillery, which still malts about 15 percent of its barley on site, has been equipped since 1972 with three wash stills and four spirit stills. Intensely infused with tropical aromas and flavours, this expression showcases a peat with many alluring facets.
