This Linkwood, distilled in 2009, was aged for 15 years in first-fill sherry hogshead casks before being bottled at its natural strength of 54.5%. This fruity and creamy Speyside single malt opens with notes of vanilla, cherry, and menthol. Founded in 1968 by the great whisky visionary, "Mr. George" Urquhart, the "Connoisseurs Choice" range now includes over 2,000 bottlings from around 100 Scottish distilleries. The story of each "Connoisseurs Choice" whisky is told on its label: cask type, bottling date, strength, vintage, and tasting notes. Always non-chill-filtered, these rare single casks and small batch expressions were created thanks to Gordon & MacPhail's unique expertise in blending distillate and oak casks, passed down through four generations of the same family. Linkwood Distillery, founded in 1825 by Peter Brown in Elgin, Speyside, is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. It is renowned for producing subtle and elegant single malts with fruity and floral notes. Although its whiskies were long little known outside of connoisseur circles, Linkwood Distillery has made a name for itself thanks to the quality of its products. Its single malt is often used in prestigious blends, but it is also prized by whisky lovers seeking refined spirits.
