The result of an original double maturation, this second bottling from the Mhoba distillery reflects founder Robert Greaves’s penchant for experimentation.
Named Skukuza after one of the rest camps in Kruger Park, this rum was aged for thirty-six months in an American oak cask, then finished for eleven months in a cask that had contained a brandy from the Van Ryn’s distillery, established in the Cape region in 1845.
With a voluptuous and mature expression, Mhoba’s trademark phenolic character forms a subtle backdrop for the remaining palette of flavours and aromas.
