This fourth bottling in the Old Orkney series is a 25-year-old single malt distilled in 1999. After a long maturation in second-fill casks, it spent its last six years in a very old first-fill oloroso sherry cask, ex-bodega.
Bottled cask strength, this Orkney single malt offers a profile richly marked by sherry, while preserving the authentic character of the distillery. The aromatic complexity unfolds around earthy, gamey and deep notes, accompanied by a fine peaty smoke, waxes, burlap and savory, salty touches.
