During a trip to Scotland, Thomas, the distiller at Ouche Nanon, discovered the peaty notes characteristic of certain local whiskies. This little Frenchman, The Frog, fell into the peated well, much to his delight.
During the malting of the organic barley, peat is burned near the grains to impart its powerful aromas. For maturation, this limited edition is aged in a variety of casks: bourbon casks, new oak casks, and barrels that previously held beer, all stored in a humid warehouse to enhance roundness.
The aromatic balance of the different casks gives the whisky perfect harmony, allowing the peated barley malt to express its delicate earthy and smoky notes.
