The Étude range celebrates the individuality of rum. Each cuvée is made with single-varietal sugar cane from a single plot. These rums highlight a unique terroir and benefit from a single type of distillation, either column or pot still. On the south coast, sheltered from the strong Atlantic trade winds, the Old Bacolet farm was one of the first terroirs in Grenada to be cultivated by the French. Situated on a flood plain between two small rivers, this region benefits from sedimentary soil and a high water table, producing lush sugar cane. For this rum, the fast-growing sugar cane variety known as Lodger was selected and grown in the 'Théo' field in the area known as the Silk Cotton Tree. Renegade Etude Old Bacolet is the first cuvée in the range to be column distilled. It is the result of a precise blend of rums aged in French and American oak casks and then reduced to 55%. Floral, fruity, spicy, exotic and herbaceous flavours follow one another.
