Inspired by the word shakar (śarkarā in Sanskrit: शर्करा), which gave rise to the Latin term saccharum, Shakara rum pays tribute to Southeast Asia, the historical cradle of sugarcane cultivation.
This 15-year-old version was produced from local molasses, distilled in a column still and aged in bourbon casks under Thailand’s tropical climate. Combining dried fruits, sweet spices, and light oxidative notes, its aromatic and flavour profile reveals both a fruity freshness and exceptional maturity of expression, without ever losing its brilliance.
